You may know me as Jadeywadey180, my online persona that I’ve carefully crafted and curated over the past decade on the internet through various filters and lenses. Here, on my brand new blog, I’m introducing you to the (un)filtered version of myself: the one who celebrates successes in silence, persists through challenges, and continues to chase after the small desires of a heart that yearns for fulfillment.
This blog is about the girl behind the glamor.
As I move into this next era of my life and business, I’m ready to unveil the truest essence of myself to you.
Hello, luminous soul. My name is Jadé Marie Chapman.
I’m a dreamer. A creative. An artist. An esthetician. An entrepreneur. A survivor. And, so much more than what I’ve shared online.
I’ve always wanted to paint the world in colors I felt didn’t exist. Whether it be through makeup, skincare, writing, videography, or formulating products, at my core, I love to inspire and connect with others through artistry.
You may not know this, but I first started my career with a beauty blog: Kissable Complexions. Over time, it evolved into a successful business I still advocate for daily. Today, as I share my first post of many, it feels like I’m coming full circle. Back to the dreamer I once lost, and found again.
I invite you to join me as I peel back the layers and dive into the depths of knowledge I’ve accumulated over the past decade in the beauty industry — and, on this earth.
To kick off this blog, I wanted to share a few things about myself and the lessons I’ve gained from my life thus far…
YOU are your greatest love story.
I’ve been on social media for a long time — 14 years to be exact. As a makeup artist, educator, and content creator for some of the top beauty brands in the world, my life probably looked like everything was as beautiful as I wanted you to believe it to be. Yet, through all the glitz and glamor, it felt as though I was experiencing life through a lens rather than looking up and actually living it.
About five years ago, I looked in the mirror and didn’t recognize the face staring back at me. The reflection felt more like an illusion and less of the girl I knew I once was.
I had lost my passion for why I even got into the beauty industry in the first place.
My purpose had always been to help others feel confident and beautiful in their own skin, but as time went on, I found myself struggling to feel comfortable in my own. I became more fixated on how others perceived me than my actual craft. That’s when Jadeywadey180 was born: a perfected mask I could hide behind, hoping that if others accepted me, then maybe I would learn to love myself.
However, after years of dealing with depression and addiction, and constantly searching for fulfillment in all the wrong places, I decided it was time for a real transformation. One that focused less on my external appearance and more on what was happening internally.
I made a commitment to self-reflection, shadow work, and holistic approaches to wellness. My priority shifted to improving my mental health first. I incorporated daily breathwork and meditation into my routine, experimented with plant medicine, and even sought guidance from shamans in forests. Yes. Shamans.
This is when I experienced a deep spiritual awakening that changed my life’s trajectory — forever.
I was open to any reliable resources that could help expand my awareness, promote healing, and facilitate personal development. Through this journey, I came to understand that self-love was the key to what I’d been searching for all along. This lesson, along with many others, has shaped me into the woman writing to you today.
You could say I did a complete 180° of my own.
Sisterhood is healing.
I grew up in a tight-knit Spanish and American family. As the eldest of four, I’ve always felt more like a mother than a sister to my younger siblings. About five years ago, around the same time as my awakening, I received an unexpected call. My sister, who had been battling a narcotics addiction for a decade, causing us to lose touch, reached out to me for help.
I decided to take a chance and invite her to come live with me. It turned out to be the best decision I’ve ever made. Seeing her fight for her life only strengthened my resolve to live mine fully and not waste another moment worrying about how the world may perceive me.
The truth is, we’re all going through our own adversities and to have just one person in this world who believes in you is enough. I needed my sister just as much as she needed me.
We recently celebrated her four-year sobriety milestone, and I couldn’t be more proud of her!
I believe estheticians are orchestrators of energy.
After graduating with my esthetics license, I was determined to master as much as possible in both the medical and holistic sides of the beauty industry. I pursued advanced certifications in microdermabrasion, chemical peels, and dermaplaning, along with specialized training in areas, including hyperpigmentation, acne management, reflexology, aromatherapy, chakra healing, herbal medicine, sound therapy, and lymphatic drainage.
Throughout my career, it became clear to me that practitioners were orchestrators of energy. There’s so much power in touch. This belief formed the basis for my signature treatments, which I now offer at my Complexions Skincare Studio in Los Angeles.
I am incredibly passionate about my craft and have made it my mission to inspire other practitioners through a new approach to esthetics. My trademarked technique combines the best of Eastern and Western medicine teachings to create an experience for the skin, mind, and senses.
I firmly believe you shouldn’t have to sacrifice relaxation for results in the treatment room, and I can’t wait to share what I’ve been developing over the years to make sure you and your clients never have to choose between the two.
My ASMR spa series on YouTube is one of my biggest career successes.
In 2019, I launched Complexions by Jadé, a YouTube series that gave viewers a multi-sensory ASMR virtual spa experience. Not only did it propel my career to new heights; it also made me realize people desired more from their self-care routines.
Viewers loved seeing breathwork, meditation, and internal healing techniques integrated with classic skincare. As the series grew, I understood more that skincare wasn’t just a routine — it was a ritual for the whole self: skin, mind, and spirit.
Learning this sparked a new business venture, spiraling me into a wild ride that I’m excited to reveal to you in posts to come.

It’s liberating to open up and finally share more of my true, authentic story with you — in both my personal and professional life.

Jadé Marie
